Any in force policy/policies for the life assured that were issued on or before the 30 June 2019, where:
related policy/policies
Sovereign Assurance Company Limited (“Sovereign”) was the insurer; and/or
AIA International Limited, New Zealand Branch (“AIA International”) was the insurer.
AIA in its sole discretion may pay more than 1 benefit, or more than the stated maximum sum assured for the same claim event should the life assured have cover under 1 or more related policy/policies through both Sovereign and AIA International. A subsequent surgery performed within 3 months of an initial surgery for the purpose of treating the same medical condition, where the life assured has had an accepted Surgery Benefit claim and paid any applicable excess . For example, if surgeries are staggered on the advice of an appropriate specialist for best medical practice.

The risk commencement date stated in the schedule.
substantially incorrect
A statement is substantially incorrect only if the difference between what was stated and what is actually correct would have been considered material by a prudent insurer.
specialist
A registered medical practitioner who is a member of an appropriately recognised specialist college; and
Has authority granted under the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003 (or its successor) to perform that health service; and
Has Medical Council of New Zealand (or its successors) vocational registration for that health service.
For the purpose of this definition, this excludes general practitioners (who are covered under this policy as registered medical practitioners ) .
The most recent schedule for your policy, which confirms the policy owner (s), the lives assured , important policy details about the policy and any specific endorsements or exclusions that AIA has applied to the policy and:
the schedule
any notice of a change to premiums ; and
any policy alteration or endorsement documents recording a change to your policy.
