BRINGING EFFECTIVE GOVERNANCE TO LIFE
Risk Culture Survey In 2024, our Risk Culture Survey achieved an overall company score of 4.27 out of 5. The survey identified clear areas of strength and opportunities for improvement. In response, we developed materials to illustrate the 3 Lines model and its implementation at AIA NZ and with further actions underway for our team. External AIA NZ was proud to be awarded the Excellence in Sustainability Practices Award at the Financial Services Council Awards in September 2024. We were thrilled to receive this award for the second year in a row. This award celebrates an organisation that has demonstrated a forward-thinking approach in integrating ESG practices through internal processes or financial services to consumers with the goal to decrease their global footprint or ESG impact.
Climate Statements In 2024, we were proud to publish AIA NZ’s first mandatory Climate Statements under the Aotearoa New Zealand Climate Standards. These disclosures support Aotearoa New Zealand’s target of net-zero carbon by 2050 by improving transparency and access to climate- related information within financial markets. The process of preparing these climate statements for the first time was challenging but also valuable. It helped us to explore the possible ways physical climate change and a transition to a low carbon economy might impact our organisation allowing us to consider the resilience of our business model and strategy under these conditions.
